Netflix fans were gobsmacked when the streaming giant dropped a bombshell trailer for Happy Gilmore 2, unveiling a host of unexpected star cameos, including Eminem.
The fresh glimpse into the long-awaited sequel was part of Netflix‘s Tudum extravaganza.
The event broadcasted tantalising previews of hotly anticipated shows like Stranger Things and Wednesday.
The spotlight also shone on the latest teaser for Adam Sandler’s follow-up to the 1996 hit comedy, teasing a continuation of the golfing antics.
It’s now known that the film will make its exclusive Netflix debut on July 26.
Adam Sandler is joined by a familiar cast featuring Ben Stiller, Julie Bowen, Allen Covert, Dennis Dugan, and Christopher McDonald, all reprising their iconic roles. Adding to the excitement, the sequel boasts cameo appearances from the likes of Eminem, NFL icon Travis Kelce, and golf superstar Rory McIlroy.
Sharp-eyed viewers had already caught glimpses of additional celebrity spots in an earlier trailer. Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican rap sensation, steps onto the course as a caddy, while Benny Safdie, Sandler’s co-star from Uncut Gems, pops up briefly, reports the Mirror US.
Pro wrestler Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF) portrays Happy Gilmore’s offspring, and there are more surprises that had fans reeling within moments. A fan exclaimed: “Yo that cameos at 13 seconds stunned me for a moment though.”
Viewers were quick to notice that within mere seconds of the trailer, there are glimpses of comedian Eric Andre and The Substance’s Margaret Qualley, much to their delight.
But it wasn’t just these appearances that got fans talking. One admirer noted: “The fact that he put his actual wife and daughter in this film makes it soo much more personal.”
Others were thrilled at the star-studded line-up, as one fan exclaimed: “MJF, Eminem, Becky Lynch, Martin Herlihy (Please Don’t Destroy), Domingo (I mean…Marcello Hernández), Bad Bunny, Eric Andre… so many awesome cameos for this movie!”.

It has been almost thirty years since Happy first showcased his exceptional golf talent to win the Tour Championship, making his mark on the PGA Tour, and crucially, saving his grandmother’s abode from being seized due to years of unpaid taxes. Now, the much-loved character is all set for another round of triumph as he faces top-notch opponents.
Happy Gilmore 2 marks the reunion of the original’s creative duo Sandler and Tim Herlihy, with director Kyle Newacheck taking the reins – renowned for his previous work with Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in the Netflix sensation Murder Mystery of 2019.
