Much of today’s debate will rage around whether Max Verstappen intentionally slammed into George Russell.
The Red Bull star was furious after being told to let Russell pass, believing that the Mercedes driver should be penalised for ramming him moments earlier.
Verstappen slowed for a few moments, suggesting he would finally relent and allow his rival through.
However, the cars then collided, with Russell shouting over the team radio: “What the f***!”
Many feel Verstappen made contact deliberately and would not comment on his intentions after the race.
Nico Rosberg was categoric in his belief that it was intentionally, commentating Sky Sports: “He needs to get the black flag immediately. He just crashed into Russell on purpose.
“Wow, that’s bad, bad, bad. He just rammed him full on. You need to black flag him. Max was right in the first instance and then the team went against Max and caused him to boil over. He just rams him, you need to black flag that right away.”
Red Bull team principal Horner responded to those comments by claiming Rosberg can be “sensational” on commentary.
